Brasstober moves into November

Pandemic’s 9 year anniversary party is quickly approaching and i’m excited to announce my good friend Dj Joro Boro (former resident dj of NYC’s http://www.mehanata.com, No Man’s Land, and Balkan de Janeiro) will joining the festivities on Dec 5th. Prepare yourselves for celebration of 9 Years of Drinking Dancing Stomping and Yelling at The Brillobox. Its been a crazy run and i’m grateful to still be at it.

In the meantime we have a few other parties happening in November with http://rayabrassband.com (a balkan brass 5 piece from NYC).

About Raya…

Since 2008 Raya Brass Band has thrilled audiences with its energetic brand of soul shaking, border defying dance music. Given the way these five musicians electrify clubs, festivals, underground parties, and even subway cars with their riotous performances, it’s no wonder that they’re often mistaken for a band twice the size. The members of the band all bring their unique voices to the group, creating a sound informed as much by their love for the fierce and seductive music of the Balkans as it is by New Orleans brass bands, punk rock, out jazz, and a host of other international sounds. When they put it all together, this hard working band gets straight to the point, dancing, sweating, and shouting alongside its audience.

We also have a Chalga Party in the works featuring Pittsburgh Track Authority’s Preslav also known as dj Shtangata. If you haven’t experienced a chalga party you don’t know what you are missing. This will be the 4th Chalga Party and all have been over the top. Chalga while extremely cheesy at times can also be super fun and kinda sleazy to dance to. Never have Clarinets and keytars been so cool.  But there is more than Chalga to enjoy. We play Manele, Pop Folk, Turbo Folk, Electro Shaabi, Bhangra and more.

and here is a bhangra track or two for ya.
